Clearing the unread mail icon on my Blackberry

I could not clear down the unread mail icon on my Blackberry 8700.

Not critical, but irritating!

Tried various approaches; mark prior read, delete prior, pull battery, all to no avail.

No unread mail to be seen....

Somewhere the Blackberry was holding something, somewhere unread.

Used "Search" to find it as follows:

• From within Blackberry Messaging (mail)
• Menu, Search
• Search again (blank search), i.e. return all
• Hit "U" to find next unread.....

I found an errant unread message filed away in the search results!

An unread mail, somehow accidentally saved....

Import Contacts from Thunderbird to Gmail

With the attraction of the recently launched Google calendar functionality, I wanted to migrate a number of family email accounts to use Gmail.

Contacts needed to be exported from Thunderbird and imported to Gmail. The version of Thunderbird in use (1.0.6) exports Contacts fine to a CSV file, but omits a header row, so Contact import fails to Gmail.

Slightly annoying, but easily fixed by pasting the header row below at the start of the CSV file. Not rocket science, but might save someone a few minutes.
